What do you think of the world today? Do you like what is happening with it? Typhoons, hurricanes, landslides, flashfloods, sinking ships, crashing planes, religious battles, corruption and the like are very rampant these days. Only two millennia have passed, but with what we are experiencing at these present times, the end already seemed to be just around the corner. If only there was a great miracle, it will be certain that the withering world and its inhabitants will be spared; if only I had the power to change anything, I will definitely go back the olden times and do everything just to make the world as ideal as it was on the first week it existed.
What if I really had the power? Prepare yourselves; for the very idealistic Joanna will let you live onto the “ideal world” she is about to create with the succeeding paragraphs.
Just like in the story of Creation, the making of the “ideal” world will also be in a span of seven days.
First off, I would make the world a little bigger, so there will be more space for more humans. No two parties will ever again argue about land ownership, because everybody will have his/her own. There will be more natural resources, so that no one will have to worry about poverty. In my ideal world, there will be more for everybody.
The world would remain to be a green and blue planet. Greener pastures will await sheep, cattle, and other herded animals. All living things will be inhaling fresher air. All bodies of water will be havens for every marine species and will be safe for human use. Good news for the bacteriophobic: filthy matter will never be present. No devastating typhoon will form and no earthquake will rattle the peacefulness. In my ideal world, every living thing will live in safety and utter satisfaction.
What about the kind of people that will dwell in this world? They will still be unique; no two people will be the same. They will have to TAKE CARE of my creation and will learn to LIVE WITH OTHERS. A person that would live in my world is enlightened. Without any doubt, he will choose to do what is right over what is wrong. He will think first of others, before he thinks for the good of himself. Neither will he have the tendency to commit crimes nor will he persecute his brothers and sisters. One will never again be anxious of getting teased, robbed, or killed by someone in his or her neighborhood. In my ideal world, people will live harmoniously with each other.
The demarcation line that separates the rich and the poor will be erased. Everything sold will be for free, so no one will get envious or left behind. Money will not exist. I know that money is the primary purpose of working. But this time, it will not be the motivation. People will work because they care for the good of others. They will work because they have this desire of contributing something to the society. They will work because they want to discover their abilities and improve them. In my ideal world, people will neither be corrupt nor selfish, but service-oriented.
Ah, yes. Technology. Of course, it will be introduced, but people will be smart enough to put it into good use, rather than to use it to become the cause of destructive wars. Apparently in my world, no man like Hitler will be born to make the nations collide.
I may be the architect of this ideal world, but I do not dream to be worshipped by humans. No, I am obviously not in the zenith of arrogance while I am creating this entry. In constructing this world, Someone is with me. He is my Companion. If the ideal inhabitants of my ideal world encounter problems, they will turn not to me but to Him. He will always be the Savior of mankind and the center of the people’s lives. Who is He? Of course, He is no other than but the Lord Himself. All the people will be His believers; atheism and other pagan organizations will not surface. People will not question His supreme being; instead they will love Him with all their hearts and minds.
It would really be utterly fantastic if the world were made to perfection. It would really be delightful if people do not need to suffer as they continue with their lives. But let us remember that everything that happens has its own reason. And the reason behind our not-so convenient and not-so safe lives at these present times is our wrongdoings. The calamities, betrayal, crimes and the like happen because we always choose to do the wrong thing.
You know what? We can actually make this world an ideal place for mankind, if only we set aside our worldly desires and be matured enough to make a difference. Do not just sit there and dwell on the fact that one's life is short, do something.
